With their NBA Championship betting odds putting them in joint 5th position (7th if we discount the fact that 3 teams were tied for 4th place) we have next up, the 76ers betting odds
PHILADELPHIA 76ERS
Eastern Conference. (NBA odds = 20.00, NBA Eastern Conference odds = 10.00)
After an excellent season, finishing top of The Eastern Conference, and 3rd in the NBA overall The Philadelphia 76ers have a lot to live up to this year.
We’re a little surprised to see the 76ers odds sitting quite so high after such an impressive effort and think that represents a decent price.
Here are their relevant numbers and what we think they tell us about last season’s results.
TEAM STATS
Based on their ‘per game’ averages, here’s how The Philadelphia 76ers performed compared to the other teams in the top 10 (according to their NBA betting odds) last season.
Most 2-pointers attempted (57)
Most 3-pointers attempted (30)
Joint highest number of free throws attempted (26)
Highest number of steals (9)
Highest number of blocks (6)
The Philadelphia 76ers weren’t the worst performers in any of the categories represented here and didn’t allow their opponents to excel in any of them either.
In fact, they were only bettered in terms of their number of 3-pointers attempted and scored but still managed a better percentage.
With numbers like those, any team is going to win more games than they lose and it is no great surprise that they topped The Eastern at close of play.

DRAFT PICKS
The Philadelphia 76ers found themselves with 3 picks in this years’ Draft but none that featured in the Rookie of the Year betting odds.
28th pick:
Jaden Springer (shooting guard)
Springer is a defensively-minded guard whose offensive game is constantly improving. He keeps opponents off balance and gets his shot away under pressure, but lacks an elite level of explosiveness. The step up to the NBA is going to put pressure on his athleticism, which needs development.
50th pick:
Filip Petrusev (center)
The Serbian Petrusev is big and bulky but nicely mobile and acceptably athletic. His coordination, finesse, and timing are immediately apparent. Passes well and takes a rebound superbly. His shooting still needs work as he is not overly threatening from the perimeter, but overall he looks to be a solid prospect who has the potential to really kick on.
53rd pick:
Charles Bassey (power forward/center)
Bassey is an intense player with a good engine and an outstanding rebound ability. He operates as an invaluable shot blocker and rim protector, with controlled aggression. He has a decent mid-range shot in his arsenal and is tenacious and hard working. With coaching and focus, he will turn out to have been a good catch for The Philadelphia 76ers in our eyes.
EXISTING PLAYERS
A key player for The Philadelphia 76ers this season will undoubtedly be the rock-solid:
Joel Embiid (8.00 MVP odds) #21 center-forward
The Cameroonian was joint second-favourite for MVP this season and is a high-scoring machine at times. He was consistently good right across his stats last season and is a dead-set game-changer in any clash if he can hit that many points.
WILL THE 76ERS’ NUMBER BE UP THIS SEASON?
The Philadelphia 76ers killed it with a 68% win percentage last season.
It’s difficult to pinpoint where they can improve drastically, so it’s going to come down to the small things. Keeping Embiid in that superb scoring vein would be a good start. Taking into account the acquisitions they’ve made, we feel that they represent a clear and present danger once again and NBA conference odds of 10.00 look very tasty.
Bring it on.
