The Emirates NBA Cup is an in-season tournament, where the regular games also double up as cup games. The only additional game to an already packed season, is the final one-off NBA Cup Championship game.
The reigning NBA Cup Champions are the LA Lakers, who defeated the Indiana Pacers 123-109 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 9th December 2023.
This year's tournament started on 12th November and runs through to the Championship game, again in Vegas, being held on 17th December 2024.

The Bucks went unbeaten through the entirety of the in-season tournament, but started the final as 5.5 point underdogs.
Our futures picks
Right from the start we've been tipping the Lakers to retain their crown, they have a stronger line up than last season , and seemed to really enjoy being the first winners of the in-season tournament. Possession is 9/10th of the law and all that. UPDATE: Lakers eliminated.
We also like the look of New York, who had a good season last term and have started in reasonable form this season, they are our second pick. UPDATE: New York installed as betting favourites. New York eliminated much to the betting world's surprise by Atlanta.
Our third pick goes to a fast improving Orlando Magic team who at time of updating this page sit 3rd in the Eastern conference. They represent very good value for the Cup, in our opinion. UPDATE: Magic make the QF, albeit with outright win odds of 11.00 - but we are still in the hunt! We're down to one pick as Orlando were eliminated in the QF by Milwaukee.
