Well, a good place to start is the fact that he averaged 20.1 points (FG 43.8% 3P 40.0%), 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.6 steals in his first (and only) season in the NCAA. An outstanding effort, especially those 3-pointers.

While he changes direction and pace rapidly, and has a keen eye for the right pass to make, he’s not a particularly explosive player in terms of raw speed, but can and does score from all 3 levels.
It’s really his handling skills and ability to control the flow of movement and pace of the game that shine through though.
CAN CUNNINGHAM IMPROVE THE PISTONS?
To our eyes he is already pro-ready, and easily capable of playing Point Guard at the ultimate level for the Detroit Pistons.
They desperately need his injection of skill and confidence.
Finishing bottom of the Eastern Conference, and second last overall shows how much work The Pistons need to put in, and how much improvement they need to show.

No area needs more improvement than their number of points scored. Cunningham can really bring something to the party there, but needs serious backup overall from a team that languished at the wrong end of the table.
